Big Boy Steel .327 Fed Mag, .41 Mag
Made of Steel, Now In Rifle And Carbine
While we are fond of the brass tradition begun by B.T. Henry’s 1860 rifle, we do understand that today’s hunter may prefer something a shade lighter on the mountain, and the Big Boy Steel carries on the same brush gun appeal of the brass-framed Big Boys in its overall configuration, but with upgraded features for the modern hunter, while weighing in 1.68lbs. less than its cousin.
The 7lbs. steel Big Boy hangs its 20″ round barrel and checkered walnut furniture on a matte-finished blued steel frame that’s drilled & tapped for optional scope mounts, and uses the same adjustable Western-style sights as the standard Big Boy, with the same sliding transfer bar safety system in its hammer. Most of the weight savings is due to the steel frame being lighter than a brass counterpart to begin with, and less steel in the thinner barrel walls than an octagon version.
To make sure the steel Big Boy stays easy on the shoulder we use a black solid rubber recoil pad. For hands-free hiking up or down, it wears sling swivel studs; and we’ve also added a rifle-style fore-end cap instead of the usual carbine-type barrel band.
A perfect choice for straight-walled cartridge hunting laws in Ohio, Indiana, Southern Michigan, and other areas; with its subdued no-spook-em dark finish and easy-to-maneuver dimensions, we’ve got that brand new deer rifle you’ve been looking for right here.
And, the 2015 success of the Big Boy Steel model led to the 2016 introduction of the Big Boy Steel Carbine, with the same blued frame and round barrel, this time in 16.5” length. It comes with our glove-friendly oversized lever, and a seven-round magazine capacity. Nearly a half-pound lighter, and with an overall length of 34”, this is one trim partner to your favorite revolver in a matching caliber, and it’s a great compact trailgun on its own.
More calibers available in the newer version of this model.

Can’t wait for deer season
Hello,I just wanted to write you to tell you thank you for producing my henry big boy steel .357. Up till I purchased my henry I was a marlin man. But no more! The only rifle I will ever purchase from now on is a henry. The quality, the fit,the finish, accuracy etc. Is completely mind blowing! Also if you could thank everyone at your company for the fantastic work I would appreciate it. Also thank you for having an American company with the products the customer service and the dedication to make henry repeating arms such an awesome company! This pic is of me and my henry in the south west idaho desert…take care and god bless sir.
Sir, I rarely am compelled to write letters, however I need to comment. Two years ago I bought a big boy steel in 45 colt, my schedule was such that it sat in my safe, unfired, until today. I am so impressed with this rifle I don’t know where to start. Let me say that the bore of my 45 colt is so smooth, that it took all of two minutes to clean, I have never seen any barrel that has this quality. The rest of the rifle is excellent too. So please rest assured that I am a customer for life. My rifle produced a group of one and a half inches at 100 yards. with a random pick from the load book. I think thats outstanding.
Keep up the good work, best regards,
Merry Christmas to you as well.
Here’s my 10 year old with his first deer this year with Henry 357 BBS Carbine we got him for Christmas last year.
Its a great gun and you guys are great people so I hope you continue to expand your business and make Dad’s happy around the nation again this year..
Dear Mr. Imperato,
I emailed you last week stating I had purchased a Henry Rile – a Big Boy Steel to be exact. I loved the look when I took it out of the box, and I love it even more now that I’ve been to the range (3x)!
It shoots like a dream. You should see what it does to a 1/2 liter water bottle! LOL. The bottle is about 2 ½ inches across. From 25 yards, I hit them 4 out of 4 times. I’m an OK shot, but this rifle makes me a better marksman.
Just wanted to let you know, I think you have a GREAT product.
Thanks for keeping it American!

Dear sir, I just have to say how pleased I am with my new Henry Steel Carbine with a 16 1/2 inch barrel. It’s light, handy, accurate and has a very smooth action right out of the box. It’s just gorgeous. I have had .357 lever guns that are picky in feeding different OAL cartridges. My new Henry feeds everything I feed it without complaining. No slicking necessary. This rifle is of the best quality I have ever seen in a lever gun. The fit and finish are superb. I’m absolutely thrilled. Your guys and gals have definitely out done themselves with this model.
Thank you for an outstanding value.
I just purchased my 3rd Henry a Big Boy Steel H012M 357/38. I wanted to congratulate the Henry team for another great rifle.
Outstanding wood to metal finish, the action is smooth as butter. I can wait to take her to the range and test how she shoots.
I also just placed and order for a Scope mount to help my elderly eyes.
Thanks again! God Bless and have a Very Merry Christmas.
