The Original Henry Rare Carbine

Invest in an American Legend

View Rifle Specifications
Shoulder the new Henry Repeating Arms Original Henry Rifle and step back in time: to an era when men stood bravely for what they believed … headed out in search of the next great frontier … lived off the land … and embodied the true American spirit.
Benjamin Tyler Henry

Benjamin Tyler Henry – Inventor

In the late 1850s, metallic cartridges were the coming wave of firearms technology, and besides the difficulties inherent to developing reliable and effective self-contained rounds the new ammunition demanded equally new gun designs capable of taking full advantage of what the quick-loading cartridge offered. Cartridges that revolutionized a field of slow-loading, slow-firing, and slow-reloading powder & ball single-shots freed designers to create a rifle that could keep up, and the very talented Benjamin Tyler Henry quickly stepped to the front in both areas. The result was the legendary repeating rifle that became known as the 1860 Henry, in .44 Henry Rimfire.

In the days when the average soldier was expected to be able to fire up to three rounds per minute through his muzzle-loading Springfield rifle, a small unit armed with Henry rifles could provide the firepower of an entire company. That ground-breaking lever action rifle design was the foundation for a uniquely American class of long guns that’s still with us today, over 155 years later.

Though the design may have been groundbreaking in the 1860’s there’s always room for improvement, which led us to design a lighter, more compact rifle that still stays true to the original design that is steeped in firearms history.

Fancy American Walnut Buttstock with Hardened Brass Buttplate

The Original Henry Rifle Rare Carbine is a new take on an historic design, made entirely on US soil, just as B. T. Henry’s rifles were. We developed further on our rendition of the 1860 patterns and patents and came up with this package that would have been welcomed by any Civil War soldier. The H011R uses a specially-formulated hardened brass receiver with the same tensile strength as steel which is fitted with a one-piece octagonal barrel and magazine, fancy grade American Walnut stocks, a classic folding ladder rear sight and blade front, traditional half-cock safety hammer notch, and no modernized manual safeties. We shaved off 4 inches of barrel length with the 20.5” barrel and that reduces weight by over half a pound. The integrated tube magazine has a capacity of 10 rounds of .44-40.

Classic Folding Ladder Rear Sight

The Henry Original Rare Carbine is a gentle nudge towards this modern age when rifles are expected to be more maneuverable and lighter while still maintaining its historic allure.

Larry Nelson-originalI just purchased a new Original Henry. It is amazing the most beautiful rifle i’ve ever seen. I have the Big Boy in 45 cal. and I bought my son a Golden Boy in 22 mag. We love our rifles. But this 44-40 is unbelievable Thank you so much for you, your company and your commitment to the quality you don’t see to much anymore. If every company was as committed as yours, America would be great again.

GOD BLESS

Hi
I wanted to buy the “Original Henry 44-40 Rifle.” Could not find one in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I did find one online and purchased it. And picked it up from my FFL dealer yesterday.

This is the first rifle, made by your company, that I have purchased. I was pleasantly surprised by the very high quality of the rifle. The bluing of the steel parts is spectacular. The wood used for the stock is equally spectacular. It’s a beautiful piece of walnut with gorgeous figuring. The quality of the machine work is nothing short of superior.
In other words this firearm is second to none. I am 61 years old and this firearm is the finest I have ever owned Thank for producing such a fine product here in the US.

Steve BloomHaving just received my Original Henry Rifle several weeks ago I wanted to forward a comment on the incredible fit, finish and operation of the firearm. I’ve already had it out to the range & the accuracy is as impressive at its craftsmanship. As someone who owns and fires actual period rifles from a Remington Rolling Block to Marlin 1881’s, Winchester ’73 & ’76’s and even a Whitney-Kennedy 44/40 rifle I consider this Henry as much a historic heirloom as the older firearms. Thank you.
