Lever Action Octagon Frontier
Time-honored Workhorse Barrel Style
Like stagecoaches, swinging saloon doors and Pony Express riders, there are many innovations of the Old West that have long faded from use and live on only in Western movies and history books.
But there are still a few frontier staples that were so effective and ahead of their time that they remain in use today. Take, for instance, the intimidating octagonal barrels commonly found on the repeating rifles of that period. These heavy-duty workhorses sported added mass and extra weight to aid in heat absorption, making them the forerunners to the bull barrels used on modern target and varmint rifles.
So as a tip of our Stetson in honor of this timeless barrel style, we replaced the standard round barrel normally used on our world-famous .22 LR and .22 Magnum rifles with a classic 20″ octagonal model, like those favored by the cowpunchers, lawmen, homesteaders and outlaws who blazed the trail westward across America. You can also opt for the 24″ barrel option to really tighten up those groups at the range. We rounded out this traditional look with an easy-to-adjust Marbles semi-buckhorn rear sight with a diamond insert and a highly visible brass beaded front sight seated in standard 3/8″ dovetail slots. A metal barrel band secures both the barrel and the high-capacity tubular magazine to the highgrade American walnut stock.
If you prefer a more modern look, the receiver is grooved so you can top off any rifle in this line with your choice of scopes. Both the stock and forearm are crafted of the same richly grained hand-finished American walnut typically found on rifles costing up to three times as much.

Company D, Texas Rangers. c. 1887. Bass Outlaw, standing, second from the left, was later killed in a gunfight.

Congratulations to Terri & Craig R. on winning the Henry Frontier Rifle at the Loudoun County Friends of NRA event. Special thanks to Henry Repeating Arms for their Donation.
I’m 65 years old and wanted a Henry for as long as I can remember. Just bought Model Hoo1T and it was worth the wait, I think. The problem is it is so nice and the craftsman ship is so over the top I don’t want to shoot it. You know its one thing to see this gun in a magazine, on TV or even listen to you talk about Henry rifles but you really can not see and feel the beauty the craftsmanship and the quality until you hold it in your hands.
About three years ago I purchased a Henry Frontier Model rifle. It has become my favorite firearm. In the last two years I have entered a turkey shoot put on by the American Legion. 2 1/2 inch bullseye at 50 feet. Open sights.I have won a turkey each time I’ve entered. The only time it was close was when one of the competitors had a Henry Golden Boy, and then I won in a shoot off. Thanks to Henry for making such a fine product and making them in the USA!
Purchased a Henry 22 with an octagon barrel and a loop lever last Christmas for my wife of 46 years, she will not put it down. Costing me $30 dollars or more per week in ammo. Guess she likes it! I try and get a turn with it and have a hard time getting in just a few rounds. Best gift I have ever given her. Guess Ill have to upgrade her this year….. Great gun, great customer service all made in the USA.
I cannot begin to completely convey how satisfied I am with my Henry H001T rifle. A few months back I shot my friends Henry lever .22 and I was blown away with the accuracy and how much fun it was to shoot. Even being the base model, I was surprised with the fit and finish, the smoothness of the action and the trigger, and especially the price. I put my Ruger 10/22 up for sale the following week and ordered a Henry H001T as I really loved the look of the octagonal barrel. Luckily a few days later I had it in my hand. One of the best decisions I have ever made. Nothing beats a simple, no frills 22 rifle that gives you the flexibility of short and long rifle, and especially not having to worry with whether the rifle will cycle the ammunition like finicky autoloaders with target ammunition. I have let several kids shoot the rifle and seeing the look on their faces as they work the lever and deliver hit after hit on target is awesome. This may be the most accurate 22 rifle I have ever shot, and I have recommended it to everyone who inquires about it. Thank you and the company for producing a quality product at a great price and standing behind it, I am proud to be a Henry owner. Thank you very much Mr. Imperato!
