The Spirit of ’76 Semiquincentennial Edition

.44-40 WCF

250 Rifles for 250 Years of Freedom

A Nation’s Defining Moment

Two and a half centuries ago, a fledgling nation declared its independence for the betterment of its own people. To honor 250th Anniversary of the United States of America, Henry Repeating Arms presents The Spirit of ’76 Semiquincentennial Anniversary Edition, a rifle conceived as an enduring artifact worthy of our national heritage.
Limited to just 250 rifles, this is among the most refined and historically significant firearms ever produced by Henry Repeating Arms. Each is offered exclusively factory-direct, reserved for collectors who understand that true value lies in rarity, context, and craftsmanship.

The New Original Henry

Built on the revered New Original Henry platform, this rifle is a line-for-line reproduction of the 1860 patent from Benjamin Tyler Henry, save for the concession needed to adapt to the more modern .44-40 WCF cartridge that it’s chambered in.

The polished blued steel octagon barrel recalls the restrained beauty of early American armsmaking. At its heart, a nickel-plated brass receiver, fully engraved and selectively adorned with 24-karat gold highlights, transforms the rifle into a stunning work of art.

The Spirit of 1776

The receiver tells the story of American independence through meticulously executed engravings that commemorate the courage, unity, and conviction of the Revolutionary era.

The right side features a dramatic Revolutionary War battlefield scene, a period-correct musket, the Betsy Ross flag, Independence Hall, and a commanding portrait of the bald eagle – timeless symbols of liberty and national resolve.

The left side continues the narrative with a Revolutionary War fife and drum corps, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and an engraved rendering of the sword carried by George Washington. Together, these scenes form a visual chronicle of the nation’s birth.

Exquisite Materials

The buttstock is crafted from rosewood blanks hand-selected by Henry Repeating Arms Founder and CEO Anthony Imperato. Each piece is selected for its rich color, grain, and character, ensuring that no two rifles are identical.
A nickel-plated brass crescent buttplate with a period-correct trapdoor completes the rifle with authentic historical detail.

Museum-Worthy

With only 250 individually serialized rifles produced, The Spirit of ’76 Semiquincentennial Anniversary Edition stands at the intersection of fine art, functional craftsmanship, and national identity. It is our expression of freedom, created for those who recognize history as something to be held, safeguarded, and honored.
