A couple things.
First, you had a call-in show maybe 6 months ago, and I called in and talked about how I was a new shooter and how much I liked my .357 Big Boy, and then went out and bought a .17 HMR Golden Boy. You asked what I’d get next, and I said I’d probably get a Long Ranger.
Well, that’s what I did. Got a .308 Long Ranger, which as you know is a stout caliber with a fair amount of kick to it. I’d like to congratulate you on the design of that rifle, and in particular the recoil pad. I wasn’t worried about recoil, but shall we say “curious.” It’s a pleasure to shoot that cannon.
Second, I’d like to say that I will get my 4th Henry in a heartbeat: the moment you make a 20ga shotgun that will hold five or so rounds in the tube. I already have a 12ga break-action Winchester 37, and with all due respect to break-actions, I just don’t like the single-shot guns. Not that there’s anything wrong with ’em. Pure personal preference.
Anyway, you guys make fantastic products. I won’t bore you with my evolution from a non-shooting gun control supporter to the opposite, but I’ll say this: Your .357 magnum Big Boy turned from from a new shooter who liked guns into a new shooter who loves guns.
To me, Henry rifles are poetry in motion, and almost mystical. Long may you run. And I sure hope I see a Henry 20ga lever shotgun pretty soon!
