Wetumpka Alabama Youth completes Eagle Scout project for AHERO
Philip White, a freshman at Wetumpka High School and Member of BSA Troop 13 recently completed his Eagle Scout project. He built two hunting houses to benefit a local veterans group, AHERO. AHERO connects Veterans through outdoor activities as a means to recover from their physical and psychological trauma to reintegrate with American life. Philip along with help from members of his Scout Troop, collected funds and donated materials and built two handicap accessible hunting houses on sleds that can be moved from place to place on the AHERO property to allow veterans to participate in hunting activities in a weatherproof environment. The houses have ramps leading to a 36 inch door to allow veterans with severe disabilities access. When asked about his Eagle Scout project, Philip stated, “When I first visited AHERO and Major Stuckey and learned about what they do, I was very excited. It was a way that I could give back to the very people that make it possible for all of us to live in freedom. They have sacrificed so much for all of us. We can never repay them for what they have endured, but if this one thing could make a difference in their lives, I wanted to do it.”
AHERO was founded by a local Marine, Major Lee Stuckey. AHERO (America’s Heroes Enjoying Recreation Outdoors) connects Veterans with patriotic members of local communities by organizing outdoor events and social activities. They allow veterans to get together and hunt, fish, and do a lot of other outdoor activities, but mostly provide them a place to heal with others who are going thru similar struggles. AHERO is a non-profit, and if you would like to help them out, please visit their website at WWW.AHEROUSA.COM. Contributions are tax deductible, and AHERO works with a 100% volunteer staff.
I bought my first Henry riflle, it is a .357/.38 Big Boy Steel. I’m impresssed with the crafstmanship with the rifle. I served 27 years with the California Highway Patrol and none of our firearms had the quality that your firearms have. I intend to buy more in the future. Keep up the good work.
Good Morning, Anthony
Last night as friends were visiting, their Havanese dog, Sam, checked out my Henry .17 HMR Varmint Express. He approved!!! It is a delightful handling rifle, and a pure pleasure to shoot! Scope is a Leupold VX 1 3x9x40. A week ago, I took out a woodchuck at 70-75 yards with one shot! He no longer lives under my shed! Thank You for producing a. Superior quality rifle here In the USA! I am eagerly awaiting receipt of my new Henry Longranger .308 caliber!!!
Hi, Will, from Australia. Recently purchased my new Henry leaver action. What a great fifle, fun to shoot, easy to handle. Absolute fine workmanship, very well finished, flawless matching wood work to metal. Don’t know why I waited so long to buy one. Regards, Will.
Dear MR Anthony, I recently won a golden boy military tribute rife at Jacksboro TX gun show. Luv it very much and display walnut case. I could never afford a Henry as I wanted one a long time. I am a disabled Veteran and on fixed income also have Leukemia from agent organge exposure in Nam. Three tours of duty. I would was gonna order a extra large grey long sleeve Henry tee shirt but the $10 brought the total to high for my budget. Loyal Henry Vet
I’m a long time fan of Henry Rifles. I just purchased my third rifle from your company. A “All Weather 45/70” and i am proud to say that the quality, standards, appearance and performance of the rifle are exactly what i have come to expect from Henry Rifles.
It’s always disheartening when a old and respected firearms company is bought by someone who doesn’t respect the name and legacy as some companies have the past few years.
I just wanted to thank you and your people for continuing the legacy and quality of one of the oldest and most respected firearm companies in our country and the world. Keep up the good work and i’ll be looking forward to my next Henry Rifle.
Sincerely, Eric Bunch.
Bought this rifle aprox 5 years ago. Added a large loop lever and fiber optic front sight. I love it and my grand kids love it. Thanks for a great product.
I am enclosing a picture of the Golden Boy rifle I just purchased early this year. I made my own frame, used my old spurs and the Mustang emblem from a Ford Mustang grill. Over the years I raised and rode horses. Now that I am hitting 87 years this October, I no longer do what I used to do with horses and guns, but I can look at it in my framed gun display. I will be ordering a Golden Boy engraved receiver in the future. It will be engraved to my grandson who is now 17 years old. I am also interested in your new American Railroad edition, H004RR, as I was also into model railroading years ago. My son and grandson have a model railroad layout. I know he would enjoy this rifle. I really like and admire your slogan, “Made In America, Or Not Made At All” Thank you. Sincerely, William P Schneider PS, I typed this for my husband because he thought you might have a hard time reading his writing. He has been saving and talking about this rifle for the longest time. He is so proud to have it on our wall knowing it will be his grandson’s one day. Thanks again.
